I’m thinking of this as my first JSK—I’ll just need to get a petti too. I kind of have a Gunne Sax blouse that already looks as classic lolita as a blouse can get. I love flirting with the vintage/lolita crossover. Lolita did basically borrow the straight classic fifties silhouette—right when my grandma was in the height of fashion. She’d wear four petticoats to school under her dress, which was all she could afford (she wore all of her petticoats to school every day and refused to let her mother wash them), and felt like her dress wasn’t poofy enough (grandma stories for the win!) I would never, ever want to live in the fifties (I’m a feminist entrepreneurial type  with severe medical problems….um, how about no?) but they kind of have the best fashion ever.
